About The Event
The sober curious movement is becoming bigger by the day! Many women are exploring their relationships with alcohol and how they may want to change their current relationship with alcohol. This happens for many reasons and you just might be someone who has considered taking a break from alcohol. Maybe you have even tried to do so before and found this to be more challenging than you had originally thought. Whether you think you have a relationship with alcohol that you want to change or you are just looking to take a break—the key to being successful is support.
Women have a different relationship with alcohol then men do and different risk factors associated with overconsuming. Many women share they find themselves in a loop of resolving not to drink and then by 5 P.M. each day that resolution has gone out the window. The cycle plays on repeat, creating anxiety and a sense of failure for women. It’s a known fact that as little as one drink per day can have harmful physical and psychological effects. Alcohol consumption for women is directly linked to higher risk factors for developing breast cancer or depression. The rate of alcohol abuse for women has been on the rise for years and has not received proper attention up until recently.
What are the benefits of taking a break from alcohol for 30 days?
-Improved mental clarity and energy
-Improved quality of sleep
-Decrease shifts in mood and irritability
-Improve quality of relationships in your life
-Spend less money draining your bank account on alcohol
-More productivity
-Weight loss
-Becoming more present in your daily life
-Feel more positive about life and set an example for children or other family members
-Feel better physically—no more dry skin, dehydration, puffy face
-Eliminate cycle of anxiety and worry about alcohol use
-Increase self-esteem and self-worth
The list is truly endless….
These specific concerns will be addressed during this month long journey. Members will explore their motivations to examine their relationship with alcohol, learn the benefits of exploring an alcohol free period of time (benefits include physical, emotional and spiritual health), learn key tools to manage stress, healthy coping skills and doing so within a community of women who is not focused on creating labels around alcohol--just learning the science of change and the secrets of success. You, too, can gain control over your relationship with alcohol and we are here to guide you through the process of 31 days alcohol free! Women who are already alcohol free are welcome to join the community for added support and a place to find community among other women. We live in a society which is over-focused on alcohol use and alcohol is the norm at every occasion. This will be a community that focuses on health and wellness—living alcohol free for 31 days.
